So you want some graphics on your vehicle. Maybe just a logo and info, or maybe a full wrap. You want to help raise your brand awareness, advertise your marketing campaigns, and you want your vehicle to stick out from the rest. No matter the amount of graphics, your vehicle graphics are like a rolling billboard 24/7. Sometimes less is more, and every business doesn’t need a full wrap. Regardless of coverage, there are a few basic elements that should be present to ensure that your message can be acted upon.
1) Your Business Name and Logo
So if a wrap is like your resume, you would first want to start off your resume with your name. This is the “WHO” of your wrap. Your brand should be displayed on the sides and back, and maybe the hood. It should be presented so it’s easy to read from a distance. You want to plan the size, font, and contrast compared to the background.
You want your prospective viewers to know who you are, even with a quick glance at your vehicle. Many of these viewers are actually in your target audience so you want to make it easy for them to start the process of understanding Who You Are.
Your logo is the image of your brand. It goes hand in hand with your brand name. You wouldn’t want one without the other. Your brand logo should be prominent with your business name, along with your signature colors, and should define your business. This is sometimes the first impression that people have of your brand. Use colors, fonts, and images that embrace your beliefs and passions.
2) Your Products and/or Services
The next most important thing to have on your vehicle graphics would be WHAT you specialize in. At Monarch, we offer signs, vehicle graphics, and marketing materials. So what services or products do you offer?
Sometimes what you do might already be stated in your brand name (such as Bob’s Bike Shop). When that is not the case, it’s a great idea to include your product and service offerings in your design. Your vehicle is like a walking portfolio, so you can use images or bullet points to show the range of the products and services that you offer.
3) What Makes Your Business Unique?
If you have special accomplishments, awards, certifications, education, or background that you think would benefit This is the section where you provide evidence (your accomplishments, education, and background) that demonstrates why you are good at what you do. If you have a slogan or a service guarantee that best represents your business and your mission, go for it, put it on your vehicle graphics design. This is a little more optional depending on your business.
4) Call-To-Action (Web, Phone, QR Code, etc)
So someone saw your vehicle. What’s next? How do they get a hold of you? By now, your vehicle should demonstrate who you are and what you do. Once the potential client is sold on your brand and want to reach out, you have to give them a sure-fire way to reach you. This can be your phone number, website, or sometimes a QR code if you are running a promotion.
Remember, these graphics are like your business resume. If you are qualified for the job and someone wants to contact you, you would be completely defeating the point if there is no way to get in touch with you. You are missing out on the opportunity, because most people will not take extra time to search for you. Your contact information will encourage the follow-up of a prospect who is interested your products or services.
You don’t have to put all of your contact info. Just send the viewers to the main point of contact that will simplify the process of working with you. On our Monarch Media Designs wrapped vehicle, we only put our website because that is where we want to direct our customers. A phone number isn’t always necessary. It’s also the same the other way around, that if you have a phone number you don’t necessarily need a website. Most people put both on their vehicles if they have them. It’s all up to your personal choice. Just make sure the Call-To-Action is not forgotten!
5) Social Media Icons
If you haven’t noticed, the world has been shifting more and more toward online presence and promoting social media pages. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube are just a few of the well-known social media icons that can be easily spotted. Especially the younger generations, if that is your demographic, are drawn toward community, online businesses. This is a bonus as you don’t necessarily need your social media icons on there, but if you do have a strong social media presence, you can flaunt it on your vehicle.
